This was my 1st time joining an activity from Montreal Photography Group and I really enjoyed it. Edwin took the time to properly explain everything. As a full newbie, I really appreciate that he went back to the very basics and even took some minutes to properly show me how my camera works or how I can find certain settings. It was a great class and I?m looking forward to join more activities in the future.

City Lights ? Chongqing, China, 2025Photographer: Marcel MorinThis panoramic black-and-white photograph captures the dazzling skyline of Chongqing from the banks of the Yangtze River, taken just after sunset from the Raffles City pier. The city?s illuminated towers reflect the sheer scale and ambition of modern China, rising like sentinels of light against the night sky.I was traveling light and didn?t have a tripod, so I shot handheld in full manual mode. The day my first full-frame arrived, I rushed to the park as golden hour approached, eager to test it. A Canada goose, perfectly reflected in the still water, presented an irresistible opportunity. The resulting photo, bathed in golden light, captured a breathtaking reflection of the goose and trees, a quality I'd never achieved before.

I'm always looking for puddles. That day, the sky was particularly dreamy and i knew that, with the billboard, i could capture a really nice shot. I crouched by that puddle for a few minutes, waiting for someone to walk into the frame. I loved the pop of pink from the kid and the dad had a really nice smile.

People often wonder why I bring such a large lens to the Zoo. I used a Sony G lens with a focal length of 300-600mm for this shot. When I visit the San Diego Wild Animal Park in Escondido, my objective is to take pictures that don't feel like they were taken at the zoo. In this case, the close-up of the tiger does just that, and you are brought into his focus. You can feel the intensity of his stare!Never stop capturing the moments!

I am new to photography, and this was my very first attempt at a golden hour sunset photo. I had arrived plenty early to set up, but quickly got discouraged because I could not seem to get the exposure right when shooting into the sun. Just when I was ready to give up, the sun got low enough, and suddenly everything exploded with color. I was very happy with the photo at first, but now wish I had moved more to my left so I could cut the bridge out of the image. That white thing across the wa
